Happy New Year and thank you!

Our amazing fundraiser Doreen and her GRACE boy Max, would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year and say a big thank you to everyone for your support in 2021. Together we have raised a massive £16,896.85 this year from our auctions, number draws, sales on fundraising page and the marketplace, bonus ball and our 100 club.

As GRACE is run entirely by volunteers, every single penny raised helps the dogs in our care. Thank you all and hopefully we will do as well in 2022!

Thank you to all of our fundraisers and supporters

Once again we’d like to say a huge thank you to all of our fundraisers and supporters. As GRACE is run entirely by volunteers, your help goes directly to supporting the dogs in our care.

Foster home needed for beautiful Poppy

We urgently need a foster home for beautiful Poppy.

Poor Poppy has been used as a ‘puppy making machine.’ She is still emaciated and has a skin condition, which is being treated (NB: not contagious). Poppy we believe is approximately 5 years old. She has recently had a litter of pups. Poppy is looking for an experienced foster home who have sighthound knowledge. Poppy also needs a quiet home, preferably as an only dog or with one other dog.

Poppy has no idea what the outside world is all about. She is very strong on the lead and has a high prey drive. A secure garden with fences of 6′ minimum are required please. As a GRACE foster dog, all food, veterinary costs and full support are provided.

Poppy will blossom in the right home, she just needs the time and care to flourish. Can you be the one who brings the best out of this gorgeous girl?

Phillip goes the extra mile for GRACE!

A huge thank you to our amazing GRACE supporter Phillip Thompson, who ran the London marathon (26.2 miles) recently in aid of Greyhound Rescue and Co-ordinated Emergencies!

Phillip’s family has two rescue greyhounds and understands the important work that GRACE and other rescue charities do.

Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored Phillip in this amazing quest. You can still donate by following the link below to Phillip’s ‘Go Fund Me’ page:

Doing our bit for the Great Global Greyhound Walk!

A huge thank you to all the gorgeous hounds and humans who joined us for the Great Global Greyhound Walk (GGGW) at Preston Park on 19 September.

We were delighted to welcome 43 greyhounds, 6 foster hounds, 21 other sighthounds and 3 other breeds: a grand total of 73 dogs!

P.S. There are lots more photos from the event on our Facebook page.

Diary reminder!

Don’t forget to join us on Sunday 19th September for the Great Global Greyhound Walk (GGGW) at Preston Park, Eaglescliffe, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 3RH.

Please meet at 09.45am in front of Preston Park Hall museum for a 10.00am start.

All sighthounds are welcome: greyhounds, whippets, salukis, lurchers, borzoi, Afghan hounds, deerhounds, wolfhounds and Italian greyhounds. In fact, any hound is welcome. [NB: All dogs must be on a lead and you need to pick up their poop!]

As part of this global event, can we make it 10,000 hounds worldwide this year? The walk is free and some of our GRACE hounds who are looking for homes will be available to walk.

There will also be a fundraising table featuring some of our lovely volunteer Jackie’s crafts, as well as GRACE items and other bits for sale. Please support if you can.

The park has a cafe, free parking and toilets.

Thank you Doreen

We just wanted to say a huge thank you to GRACE volunteer Doreen. Those of you who follow our Facebook page will know Doreen for her amazing fundraising activities.

Doreen regularly raises much needed funds for GRACE by organising a weekly bonus ball, the 100 club and lots of pop-up auctions. On top of this, she is a devoted greyhound Mum to gorgeous Max and has recently provided short-term foster care to our new GRACE girl Betty, who couldn’t wait to get on Doreen’s knee for a cuddle!

A big thank you to Doreen’s husband John too for supporting Doreen in everything she does for us.
