Let me introduce myself! I am Chloe, a 5 year old greyhound girl who is looking for a special home. I’m not keen on small dogs, not cat or small furry friendly. But….I am OK around large dogs if I can meet them on my own terms.
I do like the sound of my own voice and like to tell the other dogs what to do. I would like an adult only home, would love to be an only dog, but if not can live with a male of similar size. I need a sighthound experienced home due to my high prey drive. However, I am playful, very loving in my own way and bond with people very quickly. If you feel you could offer me an ideal home, please contact the GRACE team.
Those who follow our Facebook page will know that we have been donated some special items to do a number draw to raise funds for GRACE. They are from Catherine, a 12 year old girl who, along with her younger brother, has taken up go-cart racing. During the lockdown they weren’t able to take part in their beloved carting, but have put their old tyres to good use.
Catherine has given out lots of planters to the vulnerable in her village, as well as to the local school and care homes. The whole family are involved in this project: her younger sister designs the planters and they all help with the painting.
Catherine usually sells the planters and clocks to help fund her go-cart racing, as it is an expensive hobby, but she has kindly donated some items to us too. The GRACE number draw is £5 per entry. The prize is a handmade clock, painted in a colour of your choice, featuring a picture of your greyhound, or other pet. The winner can also choose two of Catherine’s other items. There are still a few numbers left, so if you would like to enter, please get in touch with us.
Thank you to everyone who supported our recent stall at Guisborough market. Our Tombola, plus sales of DVDs, CDs, books, cards, crafts, dog-themed gifts, leads, collars and bandanas helped to raise £93.78. A special thanks to Mike, Ted and Ann too for the delicious homemade dog biscuits.
P.S. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for updates and announcements about our planned events – plus any last minute changes, as volunteer and weather dependent – www.facebook.com/RescueAGreyhound
We would like to thank Sarah’s parents, Timothy and Diana Sharp, who instead of a present for their 60th wedding anniversary have donated to GRACE.
Here’s the happy couple 60 years ago going off on their honeymoon.
A huge thank you to Gary and everyone who supported our stall at Guisborough market this morning.
Our £2-win-every-go tombola, dog themed gifts, books, CDs and DVDs raised an impressive £184.58. Thank you so much folks!
A ‘greyt’ big thank you to ‘Sighthound Sundays’, who have teamed up with Doug Hiraki-Lyon to give your wardrobe a touch of sighthound elegance with some new t-shirts!
All proceeds from the t-shirts sales will go to support:

After an anxious start, Sam (aged 5) quickly settled into life as a pet and is being looked after by one of our fantastic GRACE foster volunteers. We now feel that it’s time for Sam to find a forever home that he can call his own.
Sam enjoys company, but will settle and sleep when left alone. He gets on well with other dogs when he has been properly introduced. He needs an adult only home – ideally with greyhound experience – and he could live with a female greyhound.
Sam’s recall is good in a securely fenced area and he walks well on his lead. Sam is a lovely boy and will be a great companion.
Can everyone remember our lovely Grace? Grace is a long-term foster dog who will remain in our care for the rest of her life.
Her lovely foster mum Jane has been busy and very creative making face masks. Jane has obviously made lots and has donated £170 to us. A massive thank you to Jane and to those who bought the masks.
Following our news post on 12th June about Lacey, the greyhound girl with a badly broken leg, we’re delighted to let you know that she is recovering well.
She still needs to rest and be in a crate for now, but generally is feeling much better. Lacey would like to thank everyone who contributed to her surgery and saved her leg. Her foster Mum Julie sent these lovely photos of Lacey.
Happy 1st birthday to gorgeous GRACE girl Phoebe.
A huge thanks to Hayley for fostering Phoebe for us. And the best birthday present of all…….Phoebe is now in her new home with her own Mum and Dad!
